Start close to the border with Spain and ride to Portugal's wild west coast, where you will finish in Lagos, just after passing by Cape São Vicente, the south-westernmost point of Continental Europe. Along the way, amazing landscapes await you, and they offer stunning mountain and coastal views as you cross three natural reserves and other beautiful places. Discover small typical villages, some abandoned, and be amazed by the bigger cities, with breathtaking sites and delicious food!

Arrival in Tavira
Welcome to Portugal! Our guide will pick you up at the airport and drive you to Tavira.
Take the day to explore the city and taste the delicious Portuguese food, and at the end of the day, rest comfortably in your hotel because tomorrow new adventures await you!
Cycle Tavira Loop
On this first day, discover the Algarve countryside.
Quiet roads through the rolling hills of the Algarve are a great introduction to this region. The vegetation is constantly changing, and the air is hot. The golden scenery will inspire you for the rest of the tour. Once back in Tavira, take the rest of the day to visit the city where you can see beautiful and mixed architecture with roman, Arabic, and Christian influences.
Cycle from Tavira to Alte
After a great breakfast, start riding inland and take advantage of the quietness of this area.
Head west and ascend towards São Braz de Alportel in a steady but enjoyable climb, surrounded by vegetation. After this long climb, enjoy the surroundings before you have to start ascending again to arrive at Alte, a very small and typical village in the interior of Algarve, famous for its white painted houses, freshwater springs, and delicious pastry with fig and carob. Look for the famous fountains and dive in the natural swimming pool.

What a wonderful day!
The surrounding area of Alte is mountainous, and today will be a challenge but well worth the effort. The ever-changing landscapes, the fruit trees, the green valleys, the blue sky. Your first stop might be in the village of Paderne, a typical place where the local oldmen rest in the shade. Later, on the way back to Alte, pass by Rocha da Pena one of the most amazing rock climbing places in the area. Enjoy the rest of the day in the village and try some of the best typical cakes.

Wake up and enjoy a wonderful morning with a tasty breakfast.
After this, start your day with a classic stage that passes by Silves, a beautiful medieval city with a unique orange castle. These earth colors are due to the clayish soil that you can find all over Algarve's interior. From there, you will ride upstream along the Odelouca River in a wonderful mountainous region before ascending to the top, where you will find Monchique, a thermal spring village. Here, the pure green nature and the soothing sound of the water springs will help you relax as you enjoy Monchique’s famous water with healing properties.

This is an epic stage!
Today start to ride towards Marmelete village. Following that is a long descent, at the end of which lies the beautiful Odeáxere dam. Take a rest and admire the view, as you are only halfway through. As you continue towards the coast, the fresh smell of the ocean will be more and more predominant. Arrive at Carrapateira, a small coastal village, where you can finally enjoy the outstanding coastline. From there, head south accompanied by the sea breeze leading you to Sagres.

You will be dazzled!
Start your day with a visit to Cape São Vicente, close to Sagres, where you will have the opportunity to step on the south-westernmost point of Continental Europe. Continue your journey surrounded by Algarve’s nature, colors, smells, and sounds. Today will be quite a challenging cycle, with a few hills and irregular terrain. As you approach the rugged coastline around Lagos, the beautiful cliffs of Ponta da Piedade will call your name to finish your day with dramatic scenery of caves and rocks, right before you arrive in Lagos city! Enjoy your last night with an Atlantic view.
