Our guide will pick you up and transfer you to your first hotel, where he will provide an overview of the exciting days ahead. He will explain all the tour details and assist you in adjusting your bike to ensure a comfortable ride. Besides that, the day is yours to explore Vidago, a charming town famous for its thermal waters. You’ll have the pleasure of staying at the iconic Vidago Palace, a popular retreat for Portuguese monarchs in the early 20th century. Take the opportunity to explore the area and immerse yourself in the rich history and culture that surround this unique destination.
Bike from Vidago to Vila Real
A day full of beautiful landscapes and typical northern villages awaits you!
The majority of this spectacular ride will be along an old railway. This will take you through some old and abandoned train stations, creating a nostalgic feeling like no other! Halfway through the route in Vila Pouca de Aguiar, the railway joins the Corgo River, which has its source here and is one of the affluents of the Douro River. After following the railway until Vila Real, you will arrive at a charming, eco-friendly country estate. This will be your resting spot for the night.
Bike from Vila Real to Vilarinho de São Romão
Riding through the mountains of the Douro region.
Today you’ll ride through the heart of the Douro, where time seems to stand still. As you cycle, you’ll uncover charming, rustic villages nestled in the mountains and encounter fascinating landmarks like the Mamoa de Madorras, a Bronze Age tumulus, and the picturesque Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Azinheira. Highlights of the journey include São Martinho da Anta, birthplace of the renowned 20th-century writer Miguel Torga, and Sabrosa, hometown of the legendary explorer Ferdinand Magellan, the first to circumnavigate the Earth. Once again, you'll be captivated by the breathtaking landscapes of the Douro Valley, revealing what we believe to be its true beauty. This stage will be marked by a long descent, leading you to the banks of the Douro River, where the village of Pinhão is located. Along the way, you'll pass through picturesque villages like Covas do Douro, where life revolves entirely around wine production—a tradition sustained for generations. As the ride comes to an end, you’ll arrive at the picturesque town of Pinhão, famous for its immersing landscapes and views and home to the historic Pinhão train station. Let yourself be enveloped by the awe-inspiring surroundings and the peaceful moments that only the Douro can provide.

Douro Valley, where nature and culture beautifully intertwine.
This day is reserved for exploring the stunning surroundings of Pinhão and its breathtaking landscapes, recognized as UNESCO World Heritage sites. You will have two route options of varying distances and levels of difficulty, both meandering through picturesque wine estates and charming Douro villages. On the longer route, you'll ride towards Favaios Village, famous for its Moscatel wine, as well as its archaeological sites, elegant homes, religious monuments, and delectable cuisine. Alternatively, the shorter route will treat you to impressive vistas, with Casal de Loivos as the highlight of your day. If there were any doubts, today will reveal why the Douro is celebrated as one of the most beautiful wine-growing regions in the world.
Bike from Pinhão to Peso da Régua
Meet the wine town of Peso de Régua.
Today promises a delightful journey along the banks of the Douro River. You’ll have two options: a longer route that begins in Pinhão and a shorter one that starts in Covelinhas, following a brief but scenic train ride. Both routes offer a moment of absolute serenity and peace, however, the longer option features a challenging elevation gain between valleys, while the shorter track meanders gently upstream through the picturesque Corgo Valley alongside the Corgo River. The day ends with an easy descent toward Peso da Régua, where we recommend visiting the Douro Museum. Afterward, you’ll cross the Douro River on a charming old bridge before arriving at your accommodation, which offers not only breathtaking views of the Douro River but also serene moments for relaxation.
Bike Peso da Régua Loop | Lamego Loop
Stunning landscapes and cultural treasures await you.
You will have the option of two different routes, which are pretty similar in terms of difficulty. The first option will be to ride alongside the Douro River on a beautifully paved road and the second will involve heading up the mountain towards Lamego, an old city full of monuments and an interesting history to discover. One of the most renowned sites are the Chapel of São Pedro de Balsemão (the second oldest chapel in Europe) and the Cathedral of Nossa Senhora da Assunção. Both of the routes today are prepared to deliver astounding landscapes filled with blue and green of the river and vines, adding one more memory to take back home with you.
Transfer from Peso da Régua to Porto

A transfer will take you to Peso da Régua where you will take a fantastic cruise back to the magical city of Porto. It is a wonderful boat ride, and the views are truly inspiring. You will spend the day cruising the river back into the main city and admiring the surroundings of the river bank. Appetizers and lunch will be served on board while you enjoy the view! Arrive in Porto and our guide will take you to the airport and wish you a safe flight home.
