To the east, on the island of Santa Maria, the beaches are warm with white sand, and the vineyards that cover the slopes resemble gigantic stairways. In the Western Group, on Flores Island, the beauty of natural waterfalls and lagoons excavated by volcanoes dazzles anyone. Corvo, the miniature island, has in its center a large and beautiful caldera and attracts several bird species not only from the European but also the American Continent. These are the Azores.
