Transfer from Faro to Aljezur
Welcome to Portugal!
On your first day, you will be welcomed at the airport and briefed by one of our guides. After that, you can head to the beautiful city of Aljezur and start exploring. This city has a rich history, having been founded by the Arabs in the 10th century, and boasts an impressive archeological site. Don't forget to visit the castle for an unforgettable view! This region of Alentejo is also famous for its diverse gastronomy, and Aljezur is renowned for having the best sweet potato in the world. So, trying out some of the typical dishes and pastries is a must-do activity today!
Hike from Monte Clérigo to Arrifana
Discover wild, secret beaches and Moorish promontories.
Today's hike starts after a short transfer to Monte Clérigo Beach, a secret beach waiting to be discovered. From there, you'll follow a coastal route that will lead you to the stunning Ponta da Atalaia. This promontory is home to many ancient Moorish fortresses now in ruins. Past this point, the trail will take you to the top of the cliffs, which house a unique type of coastal ecosystem. The Mediterranean bushland here is filled with aromatic plants that grow on the coastal dunes. Enjoy the beauty of nature step by step, and then take a well-deserved rest in the picturesque village of Arrifana.
Hike from Arrifana to Carrapateira
Feel the power of the sea breaking over the ancient cliffs and the quiet sandy beaches.
Be sure to take your camera today because you will need it when you witness the beauty of Pedra da Agulha in Canal Beach. A gorgeous boulder, sitting in the ocean. After, as you hike through a succession of hills and valleys, you will pass over the most aggressive and inaccessible side of this coastal area. End up at the whitewashed village of Carrapateira, where history speaks through the fortress built for defensive purposes back in the era of the discoveries.
Hike from Carrapateira to Pedralva
Experience the Algarve’s countryside atmosphere.
On this day, you will hike between land and ocean, where the rural atmosphere will conquer your heart. On the steepest slopes, you can admire the natural vegetation virtually untouched by man, with dense undergrowth arbutus and dozens of local plants and herbs. Soon, you will arrive at one of the most interesting places and accommodations. Pedralva is a little village that was nearly deserted a few years ago. However, it has been recently revived as a charming guest house hamlet, which kept the original design together and brought back life to the village of Pedralva.

Conquer Cordoama Beach, one of the prettiest spots on this tour!
After a great breakfast, the day will start with a smooth crossing over the forest and open land areas. Later, as you pass by the beaches of Barriga, Cordoama, and Castelejo, notice the surrounding biodiversity, including reptiles, birds, mammals, and amphibians! As your hike comes to an end, you will arrive at Vila do Bispo, a town with traditional architecture, religious structures, and a unique location. Local products such as fruit and fresh fish are sold daily at the municipal market. Take a look and get some goodies for your next hike.
Hike from Vila do Bispo to Sagres
Achieve the southwesternmost point of Continental Europe.
Today, you will hike along a flat stretch on a macadam trail, famous among bird-watching lovers. Take this unique opportunity to admire the beautiful local species while walking towards the southwesternmost point of Continental Europe - the St. Vicent cape and lighthouse. When you arrive, you will see the small yet excellent Museum of Faróis, showcasing Sagres's role in Portugal's maritime history! This is a historical location where one can almost hear the echoes of the voices of sailors and pilgrims. Beyond here, only the immense Atlantic Ocean remains, a point of passage, arrival, and encounters.
