Transfer from Porto Airport to Porto Center
Welcome to Porto!
Porto is an amazing city, which has something mystical that is difficult to describe. Take the rest of the day off to experience the city, taste the food, reach the sightseeing spots and interact with the lovely people. This is where your journey begins!
Bike from Porto to Aveiro
This first ride is an easy ride with spectacular views of the Atlantic, going smoothly on the cycling path near the coast.
On the way, you will cross several small beaches like Valadares, Francelos, and Miramar. A small and intriguing little chapel that sits on the top of a boulder by the shore is worth a stop to visit. Flat roads lead you to Ria de Aveiro, a shallow coastal lagoon connected to the Atlantic Ocean. Its unique mesotidal wetland area has several branches forming islands and is an absolute pleasure to ride along. You will then arrive at the dune system of São Jacinto and catch a ferry to Aveiro city, the Portuguese Venice.
Bike from Aveiro to Coimbra
Get ready for the longest day of your journey but be sure it is really worth it.
The path leaving Aveiro crosses lands of salt-harvesting ponds, offering interesting views of the ancestral work in the estuary. The route ahead follows a dock, offering views of Aveiro harbor and some old codfish-catching boats. Halfway you'll reach Mira beach and leave the coast at that point. The scenery will change as you ride towards the heart of Coimbra. This charming city was the first capital of Portugal, and the first University was placed there in 1537, where many Portuguese writers, doctors, philosophers, or scientists studied throughout the times. Make sure you take the time to walk around the old quarter and the University. Enjoy the ride!
Bike from Coimbra to Monte Real
From Coimbra to Monte Real, you'll have an amazing ride and a great Castle to see!
After a delicious breakfast, get back on your bike and cycle through smooth roads, villages, and Montemor-o-Velho town. The Castle overlooks the river from the little hill, fortified for at least 2000 years. Enjoy the view from the top, take a deep breath and ride to Monte Real, where you will be welcome in a Palace! Enjoy the indoor spaces, take a dip in the outdoor pool, walk in the gardens, book a massage, or experience a gourmet dinner. The opportunities are endless at this gorgeous hotel.
Bike from Monte Real to Óbidos
Today you will discover a UNESCO Heritage Medieval walled town!
It’s time to leave Monte Real and reach the coast again, riding along the famous beach of Nazaré and the beautiful Foz do Arelho bay, considered the most extensive coastal lagoon system on the Portuguese coast. Then, arrive at the medieval town of Óbidos, where you will discover one of the most picturesque and well-preserved castles in Portugal. Feel the middle-aged theme in the air as you let this magical place put a spell on you. Once in Óbidos, remember to drink the bright red Ginja in the little dark chocolate cup, a delicious tradition that you cannot miss.
Bike from Óbidos to Ericeira
On this day, continue heading South to Ericeira's surf destination.
Riding ups and downs, you will discover great rock formations, authentic and rustic Portuguese villages with white houses and red roofs surrounded by the beautiful countryside that will invigorate you. As you pass through incredible valleys of limestone and vibrant, green Mediterranean vegetation, you will approach your destination - Ericeira, the Portuguese Mecca of surf. Ericeira is also one of the most beautiful fishing villages in Portugal and will be your home for the night.
Bike from Ericeira to Cascais
Last but not least! Ride through Cascais and Sintra Natural Park.
The last adventure will offer a constant up-and-down route, the greatest views of the Atlantic, and the magical village of Cascais in the end. Ride through amazing roads and visit one of the most special places in the country. Roca Cape is the westernmost point in continental Europe, a promontory rising 150 meters above the ocean. Discover the impressive beaches nestling between the cliffs that have been artistically sculpted by the water and wind. Ride along the coast to finally arrive at Cascais and celebrate the whole journey.
