First of all, we want to reassure you that the health and safety of our guests and staff will always be our top priority. In this difficult moment, we hope that you and your loved ones can remain safe and healthy.
The global Coronavirus pandemic is affecting all our families, businesses, communities, and our way of life. There is now much concern and uncertainty related to traveling…

The good news now is that the situation in Portugal is controlled and that tourism can start! The number of active COVID cases outside the big cities like Lisbon and Porto are extremely low or nonexistent.
Almost all hotels will open during June, all restaurants are already open as well as most of the places to visit.
About traveling to Portugal mainland there will be no restrictions to enter the country, no mandatory quarantine.

We are looking ahead for ways to safely restart our business

Portugal Nature Trails decided to get the official registration with the Portuguese National Tourist Authority, to be certified as a “Clean & Safe” Tour Operator. This is a certification for compliance with hygiene and cleaning requirements for the prevention and control of COVID-19 and other possible infections, leading to the implementation of an internal protocol that will ensure the necessary measures to avoid risks of contagion and guarantee safe procedures for the operation of tourist activities.

Portugal Nature Trails’ employes took online training provided by the Emergency Medical System on how to act in suspected cases of COVID-19.

During these times it is also important to check the World Health Organization (WHO) website for safety tips while traveling.

Portugal Nature Trails

We prepared for the worse and fought for the best.

Portugal managed to be spared by the Coronavirus against it’s neighboring countries. More time to prepare led to very early measures. Our geography is favorable, and our only land border remains closed by mutual agreement. We prepared our NHS and built field hospitals that thankfully never needed to be used. A very stable political scenario allowed for rapid nationwide measures, and the state of emergency putting Portugal on lockdown was declared with much fewer confirmed cases than other countries. The Portuguese understood that to survive this, we would have to do even more than the others in crushing the curve, in prolonging and pushing forward the number of new cases. The country has shown tremendous solidarity and unsurpassed civic spirit.

Please allow us to be very proud of our health care and essential workers, that have been bravely keeping our country operational, while we stay at home keeping the curve flat.
